Facial Rehabilitation

Facial neuromuscular rehabilitation is a specialized therapy designed to retrain facial movements, promote facial symmetry, and restore facial expression.

Facial retraining may be needed after someone has had a vestibular (inner ear) problem, a stroke, or chronic facial paralysis or paresis (loss or impairment of muscle function).

This treatment utilizes soft tissue mobilization, stretching, progressive and specific movement training, biofeedback and relaxation training, mirror therapy, home program development, and client and family education.
